In 2018, Palmer College of Chiropractic will be completing a 10-year cycle of regional accreditation on Standard Pathways with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). In 2019, Palmer College will be seeking reaffirmation of accreditation on a new 10-year cycle.

The College commissioned an HLC Assurance Report Steering Committee in 2017, chaired by Drs. Mary Frost and Dustin Derby, to draft a new Assurance Argument, branch campus reports, and a Federal Compliance Report in anticipation of accreditation site visits to the Palmer campuses in January 2019. The Steering Committee also included Drs. Andrea Haan and Kevin Paustian, and Mss. Beth Barclay and Abbey Nagle-Kuch, each with unique research and writing assignments. The Steering Committee successfully submitted all reports to the HLC on December 14, 2018, a week before the due date.

The HLC will meet with internal stakeholders on visits to the West campus on January 11, 2019; the Florida campus on January 18; and the Davenport campus on January 28 and 29. In preparation for these meetings, the College has made the reports available to internal stakeholders under the “Announcements” section of the Palmer Portal. The reports also contain links to proprietary College evidence documents that will not be active for stakeholder review. The Steering Committee asks full-time employees to familiarize themselves with the Colleges “Assurance Argument” for compliance with the HLC Standards. Site Team interviews with internal stakeholders will focus on Palmer’s written responses.
